Starting work
What to prepare before a discovery call
TechnAre5 min read
You do not need a specification to talk to TechnAre. You do need enough context that we can tell a website from a product, and a four-week fix from a six-month system. The first conversation is free. A little preparation makes the reply concrete.
Five things worth sending ahead
- Who the product is for, in one sentence
- What they cannot do today that they should be able to do
- The systems you already pay for and must keep
- A date that matters, and what happens if you miss it
- Examples: a current site, a spreadsheet, or a competitor you respect
What we will ask
We will ask who uses it on a normal day, what happens when something goes wrong, and which part of the work is out of scope for the first release. Those questions are how a quote stays honest. A number without a boundary is not a quote. It is a guess.
Budget is allowed to be a range
If you know a ceiling, share it. If you do not, say so. We would rather shape a first release that fits a real range than pretend every idea belongs in version one. The form on this site includes an optional budget field for that reason.
Send the brief to info@technare.com or through the quote form. We reply during Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
